Study in Germany — world-class degrees, little or no tuition

Germany is the destination we know best. Its public universities charge low or no tuition fees, it is a global leader in engineering, IT and management, and graduates can stay on for 18 months to find work. We guide you through every step, including the parts that are unique to Indian students.

Why Germany

A genuinely high-value choice

For the right student, few destinations match Germany on value. You get a respected, internationally recognised degree without the heavy tuition of the US, UK or Australia — and you study in one of the world’s strongest economies.

  • Low or no tuition at public universities — you largely fund living costs, not fees
  • A semester ticket is usually included in your fees — free local and regional public transport across your city and region
  • A powerhouse for engineering, IT, data science, automotive and management
  • Many master’s programmes are taught entirely in English
  • Strong job market and an 18-month stay-back to find skilled work
  • A clear path from the EU Blue Card to permanent residence
  • A large, well-established Indian student community (50,000+)
For Indian students

What you’ll need

A few requirements are specific to applicants from India. We handle these with you so nothing derails your intake:

  • APS certificate — mandatory for Indian students since November 2022. It verifies your academic documents and is required before your visa. Start it early, as it takes several weeks.
  • Academic records — transcripts and degree certificates, prepared the way German universities expect.
  • Language — IELTS or TOEFL for English-taught programmes; basic German (A1–B1) helps for daily life and some courses.
  • Blocked account — currently €11,904 (about €992/month) as proof of funds for your first year.
  • Application documents — a strong SOP, CV and letters of recommendation.
  • Student visa — the national (D) visa, with a clean financial and document file.
